Maiden Voyage... and oh so illegal

This afternoon was beautiful so there was no better time than to take a maiden voyage on the boat that Brian scooped up for us this week (no... we dont' have two... we sold the other one last month). This one is certainly a better fit for the family boating & fishing that we hope to do much more frequently compared to the bigger offshore fishing boat that Brian had before. No worries about Brian not being able to catch the Tuna, Snapper, Mahi-Mahi & Grouper that we love to eat... he has a good friend & fishing buddy who goes offshore all the time in his boat. There is no doubt that Brian will get his deep sea fish on that way whenever he wants or needs to.

OK... back to our maiden voyage. As usual, Thomas was excited for his chance to use his fishing rod & do lots of casting. Abby, on the other hand, had no idea what was coming her way. That's because this too was her maiden voyage on a boat.

Its really a shame that there are no Kodack moments to prove what a fighter she is... the girl would have nothing to do with the life jacket. Now, we have been down this road before with Thomas both when we first introduced him to a "boat jacket" and when he went out on his first boat trip, but looking back now... there is a significant age difference between them & when they experienced this "Heck-Must." Abbigail is 14-months old. Thomas on the other hand, had just turned 2 years old the month before his trip. Wow... I guess we just moved Abby right along without much extra thought.
As for the illegal part of this trip... she just wasn't having ANY part of the lifejacket. So... Mommy & Daddy caved and took it off of her. I know... big no-no. We are already thinking of Plan "B" for the next trip. Of course, I had to have her right next to me the whole time (but most of that time was spent eating snacks and drinking her juice box). I have to say though... she enjoyed the wind in her face and seeing all the ducks along the way.
Daddy & Thomas doing their thing
Abby being attentive and taking mental notes on its all done. That, or she is trying to figure out how she can jump into the water. Oh, this little girl will be giving me gray hairs soon for sure.
The Captain... enjoying his boat and the water.
