Friday Night Leftovers (the cold Alaska edition)

  • The cold is upon us... this morning's temperature is 14 degrees.  Brrrr!  However, I'm happy to report that we have sunshine scheduled all week long!
  • Speaking of sunshine & daylight - we are down to just 9.5 hours and losing almost 6 minutes a day.  Sunrise is at 8:55am and the sun sets at 6:30pm.  We are most definitely heading into the dark, winter months.
  • I've decided that Abby is bossy.  Yeap... straight bossy.  You would think she is a corporate CEO along with being a certified psychologist with the way she walks around telling people what they can & can't do while shaking her head in disappointment & saying their name in that sing-song pattern.  Who does she think she is?
  • She's also an emotional roller coaster.  Of course, she is three.  That must explain it.
  • Marilyn is an eating machine.  In part because she is in a growth spurt.  In part because she no longer takes a bedtime bottle.  The girl can put down some food.
  • Oh.  And she's getting two of her back teeth in.  Lovely.
  • I've never seen Brian have more cleaned, starched, and pressed uniforms (both BDUs and Blues) ready to go at one time in the almost-10 years I've known him.  That's what going to the 7-week Senior NCO Academy will do for your wardrobe.  Oh and let's not forget that he is getting ready to go going from dry & arctic Alaska to humid & much-warmer Alabama.  Lucky %$@&!
  • Thomas earned his first academic award yesterday at a school assembly.  We are extremely proud of him.  Pictures are coming this weekend.
Enjoy your mid-October weekend peeps!  Get out and enjoy the beautiful freezing cold weather!
