Bathing suits & Bugs

I'm not sure if my kiddo crew missed the memo that said we live in Alaska (and not Florida anymore)... but yesterday they were all about having a "bathing suit" day since we had no appointments, no errands to run and no where important to be and could just stay at home and play.

The morning started off looking like this...

... and then through the morning, Abby decided she was a little chilly.  "Ya think, Abby?  It's only 45 degrees outside!"
Then she changed her mind again and joined Thomas & Marilyn for some paint stick art.
To recap... all morning my kiddos spent in just their bathing suits.
Furthermore...
They ate lunch in their bathing suits.
They took naps in their bathing suits.
By late afternoon, the weather had warmed up to 60 degrees, but it was still a bit nippy to be running around like we were ready to hit the beach...
So Abby threw her fleece on over her bathing suit (notice she did not opt for pants) and decided she was good to go!
Thomas, on the other hand, realized that it was a bit insane to be outside with his beach & pool attire on and got dressed like a normal transplant-Alaskan.
Meanwhile, he probably scared a few bugs away when he started investigating around the yard with his Discovery Magnifying Glass...
Wouldn't you jump if you looked up and saw this big face gazing at you????
