Five

Happy 5th Birthday Thomas!
2007 seems so long ago and yet it was only five years ago that our baby boy was born.
Five years ago my life changed for ever.
And I realized that there is so much more than just loving yourself & your spouse.
When you have a child - it is the deepest kind of love.

In that first year, Thomas taught Brian and I how to love from the deepest part of our hearts.  I figured out how to be a working mom and juggle those responsibilities with spending as much quality time with Thomas as I could.  We survived an 8-month deployment without Brian and then thankfully welcomed him back with his little boy that much older & bigger.  That first year was a huge learning curve...come to think of it... as our oldest, everything Thomas does/says is a learning curve for us!
(Click on his age to see old posts)
One... a year of walking, talking, and growing.
Two... becoming a brother, Terrible Twos, ABCs and 123s.
Three... riding a bike, playing soccer, HomeComing "King" and preschool.
Four... becoming a brother again, moving to Alaska, learning to sled & snowshoe, preschool again and growing & running faster!

And now five years old.  There is so much that this year will hold for Thomas... kindergarten, riding a school bus, reading, math, soccer and basketball, learning to ski, new friends and so much more.

I'm wondering where the pause button is in life?  Or at least a button to slow life down.  The things he does, and what he says, and the looks he gives... I wish I could bottle all of it up for years to come.

Happy Birthday birthday boy!
