Have wheels, Will ride!

I find it ironic that Brian and I each had mountain bikes for years when we lived in Florida, but we never rode them.  They just sat in the garage unused & untouched.  Matter of fact, we sold the pair of them for less than $50 at one of our garage sales.  If only we had known what the future had in store for us.  If only we realized how much we could use them up here where there are bike trails/paths everywhere and connecting everything.

Fast forward to now...
Thomas had outgrown his little 12" bike so he recently got a new bike as a birthday present; Brian scored us a sweet deal with our neighbor who was moving - 2 bikes that were practically brand new for $125; I found a ride-along seat for Abbigail on sale at Target that I just couldn't pass up; and the final piece to the bike puzzle arrived in the mail yesterday (thanks Grannie & Pop-Pop)...
A gently-used (but in fabulous condition) bike trailer for Marilyn to ride in as we bike, get some exercise & fresh air and see the beautiful sights and sounds of Anchorage.

Although we didn't go far today, we threw on our bike helmets and cruised some of the nearby trails/paths together and it was great!  Not only because it was a nice afternoon, but more importantly because we were all together.
Marilyn loved riding in the trailer... she waved to each of us as she rode by or as we passed her and Daddy.
Thomas has been working hard on his new bike... learning to really push up hills and also to try and ride on his middle wheel.  Weeks ago Brian adjusted his training wheels up a bit so that he wasn't riding just on them, but instead had to work on staying balanced on his 2 bike wheels.  Thomas (and everyone for that fact) can hear his training wheels spinning, but when he manages to ride on the bike wheels, its peacefully quiet.  It makes it pretty easy for Thomas to figure out when he is relying too much on his training wheels and not enough on his bike wheels.

 My happy passenger!
At our turn-around-point smiling for the camera.
 My sweet husband & me
