He is such a big boy

There are times that I try and remember back to when Thomas was an only child... seems so long ago. Then again, he was only 2 when Abby was born so it's not likely he remembers much about being Mommy's & Daddy's only little one. But it just seems like so long ago when all of our love was given to just one blessing. Who would have thought there would be enough love for a second little one named Abbigail? I write a lot about what Abby can do, what she likes, what she gets in trouble for, how big she is, etc... but I often leave out the milestones, the personality traits, and the likes/dislikes of my first born. So, I thought I would give this blog entry to him...
Thomas, at the rip-old age of 3 years & 5 months, is:
  • so thoughtful. He always asks things like, "Did you have a good night sleep?" or "Is your dinner good?" or even "bless you" after you sneeze.
  • so lovey. Loves to kiss and hug and be close to you. Even if that just means watching a cartoon on TV or playing with toys... he wants you close to him.
  • Very sensitive about others. If I tell Abbigail, "no", and she begins to cry, Thomas is quick to say, "Mommy, tell her it will be OK." Or if I scold Ziggy for being on the couch or begging at the dinner table, Thomas is quick to say, "Mommy, tell Ziggy he is still a good boy."
  • Very sensitive. Period. The boy can turn on the tears in a mil-a-second. Real tears. And for some of the littlest things. Some days I fall sucker to it too. Other days I realize its just his little drama.
Thomas also loves:
  • to run, chase, climb, slide, swing, throw balls, hit balls, ride his big wheel bike, and fish with Daddy.
  • favorite movies include: Thomas the Tank Engine, Madagascar, Toy Story, Aristocrats, Lion King, The Jungle Book, Bugs Life
  • favorite TV shows include: Super Why?, Dinosaur Train, Backyardagins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Oso, Bob the Builder and any fishing show that Daddy is watching.
  • favorite books include: all of them, but usually it is one with animals or trucks
  • the alphabet, putting letters together for words and trying to figure out numbers above 20. He wants to know what everything says and what the numbers put together are. Very inquisitive.
Although he is not a baby anymore (he is quick to tell you he is getting so big) - he will always be my baby boy. Your smile lights up our world, your laughter is contagious. You make everyday better for all of us.
Love you Thomas - Mommy & Daddy
