Soggy Soccer Saturday

It most definitely was NOT  the greatest of Alaskan summer days today considering it was the season opener for soccer.
Instead it was a very soggy soccer Saturday.
No different though... Thomas' biggest fans were there to support him & his team as they took the field for a lot of bunch ball FUN!
I'm a bit embarrassed that this was the only picture I took of Thomas today... as he headed towards the field with new jersey on (#14), new cleats & his trusty ball & bag.
From the sidelines, things were especially wet...
... although this pink lady hardly noticed.
And Marilyn didn't care much either as long as she could walk around and people watch.
As for our soccer star, he has definitely improved since he played soccer last in Florida (when he was 3.5 years old).  The kid is fast, really fast.  And he can really kick the ball.  But what has become abundantly clear from the practices & this first game is that we will need to work on "getting in there" and "going to the ball."
Oh well... that's why we have a soccer season... to improve, learn more about the game & of course, have fun.
