pre·dict·a·ble
[prih-dik-tuh-buhl]
Thomas has picked up this word along the way recently and is {trying} using it often. His understanding of it though is a little off. Unfortunately, more often than not, he thinks predictable means wearing the same thing, or eating the same exact serving of food, or even drinking the same beverage as he did the day before. I'm here to set the record straight for him with definition & examples.
adjective
adjective
1. able to be foretold or declared in advance.
2. expected, especially on the basis of previous or known behavior.
- Abby always asks when are we going home while we are in the car. Even if we just pulled out of the driveway and are only 1/2 way down the street.
- Marilyn wakes up with a smile & the giggles... without fail.
- There will be some kind of argument between Thomas & Abby within 30 minutes of waking up. Guaranteed.
- Thomas sleeps with no shirt on. He says its just what boys do.
- Unless I forbid it and tell her its freezing outside, Abby will always pick shorts & a tank top shirt to wear. She doesn't care that we don't live in Florida anymore.
- Thomas & Abby always ask for hot chocolate in the morning when they come upstairs. Winter, summer, Florida, Alaska. It doesn't matter. It's their morning get-up-and-go drink.
- Marilyn will sleep a solid 11 hours at night. She has been doing this for many, many months now. The girl definitely likes her sleep.
- Despite asking if she has to go potty & her admittedly & convincingly telling us "No, I vent {went} potty!" as she shakes her head & bats her eyes, Abby always ends up having to leave the table to go pee-pee.
