4-Wheel Rid'in

Back in June, Thomas got quite the surprise for his birthday.
We finally got to put his & Daddy's to use.

This past weekend involved us finally getting out with the 4-wheelers (aka: "scramblers" as Thomas & Abby call them), and letting everyone {except Marilyn} have some fun out on the trails.  We didn't venture too far because we knew it was more about teaching Thomas & Abby how to ride & operate, but we still had a great time seeing their faces light up & the excitement of learning something new!  We are hoping to venture up to a nearby place called Jim's Creek in the coming weeks before the weather turns on us.  Here is a glimpse of the young Hecks learning some 4-Wheel Rid'in:

I was surprised at how well Thomas listened & followed along to Brian explaining what everything did.  After just a moment on the bike, Thomas was doing it all himself!
{Note: Brian video taped one of the rides which is why he has a cell phone in his hand.}

This girl was sooooo ready for her turn out on the trails!

Despite Abby's small size on the bike, she managed to handle the "gas button" the whole time she was riding.

This girl was LOVING every minute of it!

 Check out this Video Clip of Abby coming in from riding on the trails.  Her smile should tell you how much she enjoyed herself!  I kept video taping and caught some tutorial & practice for Thomas when him & Brian headed out again.
Goof Ball!

 Mama got her chance & had a blast.
For the record, I did MUCH better than I did this past winter on the snow machine.
{Note: I've said this before... up here in Alaska they are not called snow mobiles.  My motto is "when in Alaska, act like Alaskans!"}
 This is all Thomas - startup, gas, brakes, & steering.
 One last video clip from the back of Thomas' 4-wheeler.
I'll just call this the DaddyCam shot!
