Friday Night Leftovers (The digging out of snow edition)

Hello from the North Pole!  Well, maybe not... but its definitely as snowy as the Arctic.  Oh and Happy Friday the 13th too.
  • In the last week we have dug out of approximately 2 feet of snow.  Correction... Brian has dug us out of 2 feet of snow.  Love him.
  • Is it crazy that school, work and stores operated as usual?  Everyone here did.  And believe it or not, the Heck Family did as well.  We are really starting to fit right in.
  • This weekend might entail building our first snowman.
  • Have I mentioned that warm, sunny beaches are on my mind?
  • A certain little baby is on the cusp of crawling and also having her first tooth.  Any day now.
  • Abby seems to be back in her routine with speech after a few weeks vacation - we are hearing some new sounds & new words... more to come on that soon!
  • Speaking of words - Thomas is spelling all kinds of "sight" words and surprisingly enjoying it.  I know he is just going to love reading when he puts all this spelling & word business together.
Here are a few pictures from the week to go along with the snow:
The path way + play area between next door and us.  Pete, our neighbor, used his snow plow to give the kids a little fun here.
The entire yard of snow is this high.
Yes... we have a s*%$@! of snow.

 Death by ice?
 The Mack-Daddy shovel
Who needs a snow blower or plow when you have this thing?
Besides, Brian is always done 10x faster than all the folks with one of those fancy gadgets.
 Mommy went snowshoeing with Thomas...
... and somehow convinced me to stop at the playground.
Yes, we were the only ones there.

It's all so unbelievable, even more so that everyone just keeps on going, like it's nothing.
Hope you are keeping toasty warm up there!
