Thankful Thursdays (stay-at-home Daddy version)

My hubby has had this week off from work (with the exception of Monday) and it is rightfully deserved. Since his return from Afghanistan in mid-April, he has taken very little time off, especially for himself. Not really sure what he is doing this week... although Mommy Heck has left a lengthy to-do list?

That's alright if none of it gets done because every morning he has gotten up and helped to get the troops dressed & moving & out the door which is an enormous help. That has also given him a little extra snuggle time (that he doesn't normally get) with each of the kids. For example, this morning Thomas woke up about 15 minutes earlier than his alarm clock and he crawled into bed with Daddy. The two of them laid cozy under the covers and even watched a little cartoons as they snuggled and talked. Rare & precious moments right there. Also each morning, Daddyhas been able to go & wake up Abby and get some snuggy time in the rocker with her while she comes out of her sleeping coma. Again... precious Daddy time that you just can't have enough of.

So on this first Thursday of our Christmas month, it is my wonderful hubby who just doesn't get enough of his own down time that I am most thankful for. But on a slightly lesser important scale, here is what else I'm thankful for today:
  • a long overdue haircut yesterday
  • a yummy meal with my in-laws last night
  • sharing exciting news with my sister, mom & dad... their support is huge!
  • my seat warmers in the VW Routon... this morning was a chilly 34 degrees outside and toasted buns was nice.

Blessings are surrounding the Heck household... we indeed have a lot to be thankful for.
