Kindergarten Field Day

Early last week, Marilyn & I popped over to Thomas' school to enjoy watching his Annual Field Day!  What a treat it was to see him & his friends enjoying a morning filled with lots of games, races and laughs!  It was a fantastic way to end his Kindergarten year!

 

He even wanted Marilyn to join in some of the jumping fun!

 But he was very quick to tell some of his buddies, "Hey, this is my baby sister Marilyn... make sure you are super nice to her, got it?"

Such a protective big brother! :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Until next year, when he does it all over again as a 1st grader!

Memorial Day - A day of rememberance

In honor of those who served our country & gave the ultimate sacrifice, we honor and remember you.

Someone's brother or sister.

Someone's son or daughter.

Someone's father or mother.

Someone's neighbor.

Someone's friend.

 

My hope is that we have all remembered the meaning of this holiday weekend that has been filled with BBQs, camping, beach trips, playground visits and much needed relaxation.  Please remember to thank "someone" for serving this great nation and ensuring our freedoms.  Those "someones" are the Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Coasties who no longer come home & take their uniform off at the end of a day.  "Thank you" just doesn't seem appropriate or near enough for all they did.

And of course, thank you to our hero, Brian/Daddy!

 Short roadtrip north today that allowed us to get a great view of Denali (aka: Mt. McKinley)

 We arrived at the Montana Creek Campground (2 hours north of Anchorage...between Willow & Talkeetna) and immediately took in the views...

....and enjoyed a picnic lunch together.

Finally, we took possession of our new RV camper which we most certainly plan on putting to use this summer.  Nothing says "Alaskan Summer" like having one of these babies.  

It's official... summer has begun!

Thank you to all of our friends & family (near & far) who helped Marilyn celebrate another wonderful year!  Now, hopefully she will go easy on Brian and I with her "Terrible Twos"!
